Nissan Xterra was a compact, body-on-frame SUV that debuted in 2000 and was available until 2015. It shared its platform with the Nissan Frontier pickup truck. Initially, XE and SE trims were offered, as were 2.4-liter, four-cylinder and 3.3-liter V6 engines. In 2005, S and Off-Road trims were added, and you could get a 4.0-liter V6 capable of producing 265 horsepower. By 2006, an X trim had become available.

The 2007 model year brought with it features galore. They ranged from a six-speed manual transmission and four-wheel drive to four-wheel disc brakes, a roof basket, air conditioning, and more. You could even get an electronic locking rear differential, Bilstein shocks, and skid plates in select trims. A distinctive feature that year: the Easy Clean cargo area, which also incorporated several heavy-duty hooks and a cargo channel system called Utili-track.

Skip ahead to 2015, and you'll find that rear-wheel drive (RWD) has become available, as has a rear cargo-management system, Rockford Fosgate audio, and a towing package. A couple unique accessories offered that year: a tent that attached to the back of the SUV, and a pet divider.
