1990s

The Nissan NX was produced in the early 1990s by Japanese carmaker Nissan and was renowned for its sporty styling, agile handling, and affordability. There were two primary models offered: the Nissan NX1600 and the NX2000. The NX was based on the B13 Nissan Sentra platform and was revealed to be the replacement for the Nissan Pulsar NX. The vehicle was distinguished by its unique styling, which included a noticeable T-bar top on certain variants that allow for detachable roof panels and a rounded, aerodynamic shape. This feature made the NX a versatile vehicle, offering the open-air experience of a convertible while retaining the structural integrity of a coupe.

The NX came with two engine options: the base model, NX1600, powered by a 1.6-liter DOHC GA16DE inline-four engine, which provided adequate performance for everyday driving and was praised for its reliability and fuel efficiency. It was typically paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, although a 4-speed automatic was also available. The more performance-oriented NX2000 featured the SR20DE engine, a 2.0-liter DOHC inline-four, that was also used in other Nissan performance models like the Sentra SE-R and the Silvia.
